Bernice Seagren Obituary
Born May 2, 1922 in Pocahontas, Iowa. This loving and saintly woman went home to be with Jesus at noon on June 13, 2011. She will be greatly missed, but never ever forgotten; because she left behind a wonderful and "enchanting" life of beautiful memories and loving people. During the great depression she and her family moved to Wilmington, CA. It was there she attended Pasadena Nazarene College, and soon after her beauty school training, opened up, owned and operated the Pearl Beauty Nook in Long Beach, CA. Not to be stopped or confined to one profession, she also became a certified LVN as well as an outside salesperson for Homemaker Rentals in Torrance,CA.She and Ernest, her soul mate and absolute love of her life, married on October 13, 1950; a blessed marriage of 61 years, during which she would come to know the other loves of her life; her children. What Bernice loved the very most was being a mother, which her children will tell you she was amazing at. Her children will never forget her cherished words she'd say to them: "You didn't grow underneath my heart but, you grew in it."She loved family trips exploring North America and once her children had (as she would say) "Flown the Coop," she and her husband,Ernie traveled the world extensively. She was a dedicated basketball fan - her favorite team was the LA Lakers. She had an unwavering faith and trust in her Lord and Savior and was therefore very involved with her fellowship at Rolling Hills Covenant Church in Rolling Hills Estates, CA. She touched many lives and warmed many hearts.Bernice is survived by her husband, Ernest Seagren; her brother,Art(Gloria) Stoner; sister, Doreen Schow; children, Steve (Doris) Seagren, Cynthia Seagren, Scott (Illie) Seagren, Sally Seagren, 9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren, along with many nieces, nephews, in laws, family and extended family.Services will be held at 11:00am at Rolling Hills Covenant Church: 2222 Palos Verdes Dr., Rolling Hills Estates, CA 90274. In lieu of flowers, please feel free to make donations in her name to: Alpine (Camp and Conference Grounds) P.O. Box 155, Blue Jay, CA92317-0155, or, KICY (Covenant Radio Station): P.O. Box 820,Nome AK 99762-9985.
