Betty A. Guardado
Betty A. Guardado passed away November 2nd, All Souls' Day, with her family by her side. She was born August 1, 1937 in Manila, Philippines to Glen Taylor and Rosaria Crame Taylor. Betty and her family survived World War II and were liberated and relocated by the Red Cross. After living in Parsons, Kansas for a short time they relocated to San Pedro. She was a graduate from Mary Star of the Sea in 1957 and married John Guardado in 1958. Betty and John were generous to their family, friends and community. She became a CNA at Kaiser Permanente, Harbor City and loved her job for more than 25 years. Always helping with her granddaughters, Betty retired and moved to Santa Clarita to help raise her youngest grandchildren and also worked as a home health care provider. Betty was known for always caring about others and giving a huge hug to everyone. She will forever be missed by all who knew her. She is reunited in heaven with her Father, Glen Taylor, Mother, Rose Taylor, Husband, John Guardado, Brother, Alfonso Taylor, and her sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. She is survived by her loving daughters, Roseann Guardado, Marie Dwight, Elizabeth Guardado Nicosia (Marc), Tricia Cascione (Nick), her six beautiful granddaughters, Jessica Harris, Nicole and Brianna Dwight, Nicolette, Louisa, and Jacqueline Cascione, great-grandsons, John and Caz Castaneda, brother, Chuck Taylor (Dottie), and many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 7, 2013, 3 – 7:30 p.m. followed by a Vigil Service at 7:30 p.m. at McNerney's Mortuary Chapel. A Funeral Mass will be offered on Friday, Nov. 8, 2013, 10:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church following visitations from 9-9:45a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Betty's honor to St. Jude Children's Research or The Human Society.
