Betty was born December 6, 1930 in Boyd County Kentucky to William Harlan Sparkman and Della Mae Howell Sparkman. She passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on July 24, 2011. She is survived by her children: Ruth Ann Moore and spouse Edwin Wallace Potter; William Moore; Sharon Moore Lingren, spouse Ronald Lingren and children Jason Lingren and Drew Lingren; Marilyn Moore and daughter Kendra Leak, and Lindsay Moore; great grandchildren: Jacob Lingren, and Jason Lingren Jr. She is survived by her sister, Minnie Catherine Sparkman Lewis and brother William Lloyd Sparkman as well as many nieces, nephews and in-laws all of whom she loved dearly. She was preceded in death by her husband Lindsay Anderson Moore, son Forest Moore and daughter Linda Moore. She was a retiree of AT&T where she worked for many years. Betty was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary volunteering for countless outreach programs for our military and veterans, she also worked tirelessly in community service for Unicef, The National Arthritis Foundation and MDA. Betty was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, sister and friend. While she is no longer with us, her memory and love will live on in all those who were fortunate enough to know her or be touched by her undying kindness and contributions. We will miss your sweet spirit, generous heart, strength and courage. Services will be held in California Thursday, July 28th at 3 PM at Halverson, Stone & Myers Mortuary followed by service at Cannonsburg Methodist Church in Cannonsburg, KY on Saturday, July 30th at 11 AM.
