Bobby passed away on Tuesday, February 1, 2011 in Torrance after battling a long illness. He was born on June 13, 1952 in Torrance to Ygnacio and Rose Hernandez. He lived his entire life in the South Bay attending Cleveland Elementary, Beryl Heights Elementary, Hillcrest Junior High and Redondo Union High School, all in Redondo Beach. He married Carmen Aguilar in 1971 and they had two children, Lawrence and Jessica. He was a soccer coach, Little League coach and basketball coach for his son and daughter's teams. Together with son Lawrence, he continued his love of coaching working with children in the Freeway Little League in Gardena. Bobby worked for many years in the telecommunications industry. He was last employed by H&R Block where he was a tax preparer, manager and instructor for classes in tax preparation and related fields. Bobby was an outgoing person. He loved telling jokes and stories as well as teasing everyone. He suffered a stroke in December of 2008 which left him unable to drive or return to work for H&R Block. This was a difficult adjustment for him as he loved his independence and his work for H&R Block. Bobby is survived by his wife of 39 years, Carmen; daughter, Jessica Ramirez (Gabino); grandsons, Gabino and Rocky Ramirez; sisters, Betty Ambris (Ruben), Alice Ambris, Rosemary Rodriguez, Caroline Chavez (Al); several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
