Carol Ann Ungaro

Carol Ann Ungaro was called from this life by God, her mother, father, brother and sister into a glorious life with them in heaven. Carol Ann was born August 31, 1945 to Mackey and Clara Ungaro. She was a devoted sister, aunt, godmother and all around beautiful friend. She graduated from San Pedro High School in 1963. She attended beauty college and worked at Jean and Yolanda's Salon and Sebastian's/ In her later years, she spent most of her time caring for her sister, Betty and brother-in-law, Michael's children, Michael and Jenna, and working at the family business, San Pedro Fish Market. Although she had no children of her own, she considered Michael and Jenna as her "babies". In 1999, she suffered a major stroke. But that did not stop her from enjoying life by playing bingo with her mom and best friend, Norma and shopping at Sam's Club and Target. She had a knack for being a good listener and provided guidance to those who shared their problems with her. In 2010, Carol Ann became seriously ill. She spent the last year and a half bed ridden at the Sub Acute Center in San Pedro. During that time, she was comforted by her dear friend, Norma Rizer, along with other friends and family members. Carol Ann is survived by her sister-in-law, Marie Ungaro; her brother-in-law, Michael DiBernardo and his children, Michael and Jenna; nephews, Michael (Anita) Ungaro, John (Valerie) Ungaro, Henry (Vita) Ungaro; niece, Jennifer Ungaro; best friend, Norma (Thom) Rizer; and many cousins, godchildren and friends.
