Carol Haledjian

Mrs. Carol Haledjian Hayden, South Bay resident since 1980, passed away suddenly on August 18th in the Monterey Bay area. Born to Vahe and Grace Haledjian in New York, New York on February 23, 1943, Carol is survived by her mother, Grace Haledjian, siblings Irene Rapp, Dean Haledjian, Bea Haledjian-Nichols, and Michael Haledjian; husband of 51 years, Rick Hayden, and children, Rick Hayden and Krista Wright. Carol was a woman of great artistic talent, and graduated from Parsons School of Design in New York City. Carol worked in Graphic Design and the Textile industry until she had her two children, Rick and Krista. Moving around the country due to Rick's Engineering career, Carol became the quintessential homemaker, but also made time for serving in her church, community and supported many good causes. Carol worked for the large Los Angeles textile houses, which provided fabric bonuses for her hobby, quilting. Carol's quilts became a joy both to the quilter, and the recipient. She quilted with the Pieces of Love Quilting Ministry, and with the national "Quilts of Valor," which awards quilts to our nation's Veterans. A Member of Rolling Hills Covenant Church (RHCC) since 1983, she has been a Bible teacher for adults and children, taught calligraphy, and painted real people that step into life-sized "canvases" for the annual Easter "Pageant of Our Lord." Carol also found it rewarding to mentor young moms through the local Community Bible Study (CBS) chapter. Carol was an encourager, and has left large holes, though filled with sweet memories, in too many hearts.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11am on Friday, 30 September at RHCC. Please sign the guest book at www.dailybreeze.com/obits.
