May 5, 1927 – September 27, 2014

Charles "Baxter" Bailey, a 40 year resident of Hawthorne and 24 year resident of Laguna Niguel, passed away on Saturday, September 27th in his home surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Moab, Utah in 1927, Baxter was 87 when he died. He was the youngest of 8 children. He served in the Navy in WW11, and was often heard stating that once he joined the war, it was won.

He is survived by a brother, Sug, of Moab, Utah. He is survived also by his 5 children and their spouses, John and Paula (Bailey) Middagh of Mission Viejo, Bob and Liz Bailey of RPV, Greg and Doris Bailey of Laguna Woods, Dirk and Cotty Bailey of Thousand Oaks, and Nick and Stacey (Bailey) Orlandos of Laguna Niguel. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and even more great-grandchildren.

Baxter was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Pauline Bailey; his 3 brothers and 3 sisters.

After WWII he moved to Southern California and married Pauline Babbitt on March 15, 1947. They were happily married for 60 years.

He enjoyed sports, a good hand in cards, tennis, cowboy movies, checkers and most of all, his family. He recently attended a BAILEY family reunion where he was able to be with his extended family. He loved every minute of it. He was much loved and will be forever remembered.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, Oct. 3rd at 1pm at 25301 Alicia Pkwy Laguna Hills, Ca.
