Charles R. Mulvey

Charles "Chuck" Mulvey, age 77, passed away unexpectedly at Torrance Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, November 22nd. Chuck was born September 10, 1934 in Evansville, IN to the late Charles and Mavorene Mulvey. After graduation from high school, he joined the US Marine Corps where he served for 3 years. In 1953, he met Fern Lancaster at a USO in Memphis, TN. On September 5, 1954, he was united in marriage to Fern in her home town of Matthews, MO. In 1958, Chuck and Fern moved to California, settling in Torrance in 1959. He graduated from Long Beach State College in 1960. He worked for Harvey Aluminum, Bethlehem Steel, and McDonnell Douglas. He was a member of the San Pedro Elks Lodge for 34 years. Chuck is survived by his wife, Fern; brother, William Ray Mulvey of Evansville, IN, Bill and Lois Lancaster of Sikeston, MO, Bob Lancaster and Irene Wendland of Kerrville, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Wayne Mulvey. Chuck bowled in several leagues at Palos Verdes Bowl in Torrance, and a Celebration of Life will be held there from 1pm-3pm on Sunday, December 11th.
