Chesley Beaver III Obituary
Chesley Beaver III

Chesley Beaver III sadly took his life on Sunday, June 17, 2012. At 40 years of age he was highly accomplished, well respected professionally, and beloved by family, friends, and acquaintances. Chesley had a loving nature and delighted everyone with his wit and humor. After many successful years as a marketing professional for top firms such as Winston, J. Walter Thompson, and DGWB, Chesley took a leap to follow his heart and conscience. He pursued projects helping communities such as San Jose; worked briefly on the national desk at NPR; and eventually worked with the Shoah Foundation and Yad Vashem on holocaust survivor testimonies. Most recently Chesley taught at the University of Southern California. Chesley was exceptional in intelligence, compassion, and generosity to family, friends, and everyone he came in contact with over the course of his life. Passionate about design, he turned his home and everything he touched into a showplace and a delight to the senses. Most recently he had become an accomplished organic gardener and chef, often cooking wonderful meals for friends and family. Chesley was a true friend, a trusted confidante, and a deeply loving person. He has left us all better for having known him, as well as heart-broken over his loss. Chesley will be in our hearts and thoughts throughout our lives. We love you more than words can express. Visitatiion will be held at McNerney's Mortuary on Sunday the 24th from 1-5pm located at 570 W. 5th Street, San Pedro, CA. Following his visitation we will celebrate his life at Acapulco in the Port of Call. He is survived by his mother M. Lynn Kimbell, stepfather Benny Kimbell, his sister Kelly Thigpen, sister and brother Brooke and Clay Beaver, niece Emily Rodriguez, grandmothers, Mildred Beaver, E. Pauline Gunter, followed by his aunts, Laura Kelly, Betty Jasper, deceased Brenda Moredock, cousins Ann Whisenand, Robert Whisenand, Gratia Hansen, Jennifer Peterson and Amanda Kelly.
