Christoforos Tsiboukas Obituary
Christoforos E. Tsiboukas

A devoted Husband, Father, Brother, and loving Grandfather, passed away surrounded by his family on March 15, 2017, in Murrieta, CA.
Born in Potamia, Greece on December 12, 1941. He grew up with a passion for farming, hunting, and cooking in his quaint village north of Larissa.
After working on a Trans pacific freightliner, Chris arrived at the port of San Pedro in 1969. He heard Greek music playing from a local bar, walked in and got his first job in the US, and never looked back; making the South Bay his home for over forty years.
Chris was passionate about soccer and his family. He played in the South Bay Mens Sunday League, coached his children in AYSO, and played International Tournaments up until he was 74 years old.
In 1973, he opened his first of many restaurants on the corner of Rosecrans and Lemoli Ave in Hawthorne, CA. Fabulous Burgers #1 is a notable South Bay establishment that has employed hundreds, and fed thousands of people for over forty years.
Chris was one to always extend his hand to help others, whether it be a stranger he just met or a customer at one of his restaurants. If there was a way to help someone, he would try to find the way. Without a formal education, or help from family, through hard work and determination he was able to achieve the American dream and share that dream with generations of people.
Chris was extremely loving and proud of his daughters, April Kamar, and Eleni Tsiboukas, and his two Sons; Efthemios and Fuataina. He is survived by his dedicated Wife; Kristina, his sister; Eleni Eleftheriou, his twin Brother; Alex, his brothers in Greece; Niko, Yorgo, and Andonis Tsiboukas, and preceded in death by his brother Anastasios. He is also survived by his loving nieces, nephews, and the Mother of his three youngest children, Vailia Tsiboukas, his Koumbari James and Dina Andrews, and a host of dear friends.
He will be missed dearly by his seven Grandchildren; Katerina, Eleni, Lena, Leila, Jonah, Niko, and Christo.
The Trisagion will be held Monday, March 20th, 2017, at 7 pm, and the Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 21st, 2017, at 10 am, both at St. Katherine Greek Orthodox Church, 722 Knob Hill Ave, Redondo Beach, CA 90277.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Chris' memory can be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, and the St. Katherine Greek Orthodox Church building fund. Please sign the guestbook, www.dailybreeze.com.
