Christopher Velasco Obituary
Christopher F. Velasco

7/10/1982 – 10/18/2014

Chris passed away in the late evening of October 18th after an accidental fall in the Redondo Beach Harbor. Chris was 32. Chris will forever be remembered by the glowing smile he always had. Life always had a silver lining for him, even in the darkest of times. It is this profound enjoyment of life that drew people from all walks of life to him like magnetism. He could always be counted upon to bear the heavy burdens of his friends and family. He had an infectious happiness that seemed to radiate from his ever present smile. The life of every party he attended. You could not help but laugh and smile around him. He had a gift for making people laugh. It was this gift that he used to comfort and reassure his friends and family. There was no problem too large to handle, too difficult to endure if you had him with you. A natural leader, committed and loyal beyond his years, he was the obvious patriarch of his extended family. He will be dearly missed. There is no telling how high his star would have risen. A talented, hardworking individual, with a lifetime of dreams & aspirations cut short by a tragedy. He is survived by the love of his life, Ana Lozano; his parents, Jose & Felisa Velasco; his sister Jeanette Velasco; his three nieces Cassandra, Valerie, and Allison; the Velasco Family, the Loza Family, the Lewis Family, the Pivaral Family, the Lozano Family, the Salazar Family, his beloved companions Lazy, Foxy, and Chevy; as well as a collection of friends that he loved like true family, too numerous to name, but just as important as any. Services in Celebration of his Life will be held on Sunday, November 2nd from 1:00 to 8:00 p.m. at McNerney's Mortuary in San Pedro. A Funeral Mass will be offered on November 3rd at St. Matthias Church in Huntington Park. After which, he will be laid to rest at Forest Lawn in the Hollywood Hills. The Family would like to invite anyone that was personally touched by Chris's life to attend in paying our last respects. Please sign the guestbook at mcnerneysmortuary.com or dailybreeze.com.
