Ciro Ferrigno Obituary
Ciro Ferrigno, 47, passed away on Sunday, October 31, 2010. He was born April 3, 1963 in San Pedro, California. A lifetime resident of San Pedro, Ciro was a dedicated family man and a local commercial fisherman for the past three decades aboard the Ferrigno Boy. Those who worked with Ciro knew him as a great leader in the fishing industry. After the passing of his father, Joe Ferrigno, in 1997, Ciro and his brother Joey dedicated themselves to continuing the legacy of the Ferrigno Boy. He was also a member of the Marine Life Protective Act (MLPA) where he strived to provide more job opportunity and security for the everyday man trying to earn a living for his family. Ciro is survived by the "love of his life", Tina; four beautiful children, Nicholas 24, Kristina 21, Michelle 18, Ciro Jr. 16; his mother, Nicolina Ferrigno; brothers, Joey (Christine), Sal (Georgia), Leonard (Debbie); his sister, Maria (Frank); and eighteen nieces and nephews who he simply adored. Ciro's primary focus in life was being a great husband and father. He took pride in his role as a father. The moments in life with his wife and children are what mattered most to him. Ciro absolutely loved the mountains; he was an avid skier and enjoyed spending time on the slopes with his family and friends. Ciro was a loving, caring and generous man who touched the lives of many, and he will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known him. Rosary and visitation is Sunday, November 7, 7:30 p.m. at Holy Trinity Church, San Pedro. Funeral services will be held at Holy Trinity Church on Monday, November 8 at 10:00 a.m. A secondary viewing will be held from 8:45 to 10:00 a.m. prior to funeral services also at Holy Trinity Church.
