It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of David Green Nichol. He was born in Seattle, WA on June 26, 1944 and passed away on Oct. 26, 2014 at home in Harbor City, CA He will be greatly missed by all his family and friends.

He had a great quest for knowledge. His numerous hobbies were: Amateur Radio, photography, mechanical repairs, electrical repairs, skiing (ski patrol and instructor), scuba diving, motor cycling, sailing and sailboat racing, power boating, lighting, video and sound technician (esp. at Rolling Hills Covenant Church), rocket launching, glider flying, shooting, reloading bullets, working with Boy Scouts for years, hiking, backpacking and bicycling. He was always willing to help a friend, and he never hesitated to accept the help and knowledge of others. He could read a technical book like most of us read novels and remember what he read.

He attended Rolling Hills Covenant Church for 23 years and loved Jesus and whatever work the Lord had for him to do.

He's been an active member of Cabrillo Beach Yacht Club since 1996 and served as Commodore in 2004. He dearly loved his firends from the Yacht Club. He also dearly loved his family.

He is survived by his wife, Suzanne; their daughters, Sharon of Buena Park and their son, Scott of Huntington Beach; three grandchildren, Nicholas (who shares Dave's birthday) serving overseas, Sean from Buena Park, and Alex from Huntington Beach. He is also survived by his sister, Marlee (Stan) and brother, Ted (Rickie); and their two sons, David and Mat; also nephews, Dan Pearson, Jerry Pearson; and niece, Valerie Pearson. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, November 14th at Rolling Hills Covenant Church Chapel at 2221 Palos Verdes Drive North at 1:00 PM. A reception will follow in the Annex from 2:00 to 3:00 PM. A burial at sea will be on Saturday, November 15th, leaving the dock by 9:00 AM. Please sign the guest book at www.dailybreeze.com/obits.
