Delores Catherine (Valentine) Kneisler, "Dolly", 89, a prior 30-year resident of Redondo Beach passed away on October 5, 2011 from complications due to a stroke. Born in Outagamie County, Wisconsin, in a country home, she was reared around the Green Bay area. She graduated from Antigo High School and went to work for the phone company. She later married her husband, John, in 1945 after a long courtship while he was overseas during WWII. After spending 8 years in Plymouth, Wisconsin, she and her husband moved to California with their 3 children. In 1957, she went to work for Hughes Aircraft Company as an assembler in order to buy a new refrigerator. She and her husband lived out their retirement in Terra Bella, CA where Dolly, an accomplished seamstress, was one of the founding members of the Porterville Quilt Club which is 60+ members strong today. She organized club donations of baby quilts to battered women's shelters. Using her quick wit, she loved to tell jokes and play cards. She was everyone's favorite character.
