Diane was born on March 20, 1953 in San Pedro, California. She was called home by our Lord and Savior on Easter morning, April 8, 2012. Diane lived her entire life in San Pedro and was loved by an extended community of family and friends. Diane is survived by her husband, Larry Wiggins; her father and mother, Harry and Duffy Nelson; and her brothers, Rick (Sigrun) and Jack (Kerry) Nelson. She is further survived by a mother-in-law, Rosemary Wiggins; a sister-in-law, Patrice Wiggins and a brother-in-law, Paul Wiggins; and nieces and nephews and other relatives who had the privilege of knowing and loving her. Diane received her B.S. in Microbiology at Long Beach State in 1975, and worked as a Medical Technologist at Little Company of Mary Hospital. As a second career, she received her Masters Degree in Education at Cal State Dominguez Hills and fulfilled her goal to become a teacher. Diane has been teaching at Haskell Middle School in Cerritos for 14 years. Diane loved teaching and was always kind, patient and good hearted with students and staff. She had a sharp mind and was always willing to take on a challenge. Diane will be missed by her family deeply, but we celebrate her life which leaves an imprint of her character.
