Donald Edward Roark (Don) passed away in Newport Beach on September 14, 2014 at the age of 89 while surrounded by family. Don was born in Providence, Rhode Island on July 1, 1925 to Harry and Lillian Roark. He loyally served his country in World War II between 1942 and 1946. He served in the Army with the 327th Engineer Combat Battalion. Don returned home from the war and graduated from Providence College. He worked for RCA Corporation for almost 20 years and married Grace Brinkman from Houston, Texas in 1959. Together, they had 4 children. Don moved with his family to Rancho Palos Verdes, CA in 1964. He and Grace raised all four children in Rancho Palos Verdes, CA, where they lived for 20 years. Don and Grace left Rancho Palos Verdes in 1984 when they moved to Indian Wells, CA. They have lived in the Desert since that time. Don is survived by his wife, Grace Roark; daughter, Stacy Hennessey (Sean); daughter, Elizabeth Contois (Pete, deceased); sons, Donald Roark and Gregory Roark; grandsons, Peter, Patrick, Joseph, Eamon and granddaughter, Sydney. He also is survived by 2 great grandsons, Baron and Deegan Contois. Don had 1 brother, Harold Roark who passed away in 2008. Don was a kind, generous and loving husband, father and grandfather. His vibrant blue eyes, warm smile and sense of humor will be missed by all who knew him.
