Loved and admired by all who met him. Don was born in San Pedro, California. He attended San Pedro High School, Winter '48, was the class president and a graduate of Compton College. He was an accomplished jazz pianist and model railroad enthusiast. He served in the United States Air Force as a senior medical service specialist S/Sgt training medics for the Korean War. He was the business administrator of Tustin Community Hospital in 1970. He spent the majority of his working life in the insurance industry and retired as a chief financial officer/systems analyst. Don and his wife, Joan have been residents of Garden Grove for 40 years. They were owners of JEM Stationers on historic Main Street from 1990 to 1996 and active members of the community. Don is survived by his devoted wife, Joan; loving children, John, David, Michael, David Lee, Robert, Lisa, Holly, Connie and Christine; 9 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. A Memorial Celebration of Life will be held on May 20, 2011 at 4:00 PM at Kiwanisland.
