Dorothy O'Donnell Obituary
Dorothy "Dot" O'Donnell

(Age 89) of Torrance, CA passed peacefully on Sunday, October 16, 2016, after a long battle with Parkinson's. She was in her home, surrounded by her cherished nieces and nephew.

Born in North Hills / Glenside, PA on July 19, 1927 to Stella and Charles O'Donnell, Dot moved to California in 1949 and settled in Torrance in 1964. Working as Steven M. Martin's legal secretary in a mid-sized Downtown Los Angeles law firm, she relocated with Mr. Martin to Long Beach in the late 1950's when he started his own firm. Lloyd V. Stamp joined the pair and they formed the firm of Martin and Stamp in December of 1964. Dot served as Martin and Stamp's Office Manager and was a Probate Paralegal until she retired in 1999.

Dot was predeceased by her parents, and sister, Elizabeth (Most) and brother Frank. She is survived by her nieces Kathleen Ego, Susan Mandel, and Joan O'Donnell, and nephews; Kevin Most, Stephen O'Donnell and Michael O'Donnell, along with their loving children.

With an adventurous streak, starting with her move across the country as a young woman, Dot loved travel, the theater and spending time with friends from back home as much as those she met in California. Wearing a blue dress with a sparkle in her eye, Dot was a trusted mentor to those fortunate enough to work for and with her.

Dot was a force of nature, who could do anything to which she set her mind. Like any weather system, she struck her own path through this life, and would rather rely on herself than depending on anyone else. When, in her later years, she needed a little more help, Juliet Estolonio provided Dot with great care. Juliet had strength and Dot's best interest at heart, which led to a mutual respect which endured for Dot's last seven years.

Generous to the family she loved dearly, Dot will be always be remembered as the aunt that was steadfast in her dedication and unwavering support. Dot will be truly missed.

Private services will be held by her family in PA, where she will finally rest. Please sign the guestbook at www.dailybreeze.com/obits,
