E. Braasch Gladys Obituary
Gladys E. Braasch

February 5, 1911 -
May 20, 2013

Oakdale, Nebraska was the birthplace of our beloved Gladys. Being born the youngest of six children, she attended all of her school years in Oakdale. She met her husband, Kenneth, in her Sophomore year of high school; They were married during her Senior year, made their home on a farm in Holt County, and spent the next 15 years there. In 1953, they moved to California where Gladys worked many years until she retired in 1975, at the age of 64, from various jobs. Gladys attended the Lutheran church all of her life, the last church being Christ the King Lutheran. She was able to help with needs there. One interesting thing she did was crocheting booties which were donated to hospitals for newborns. All our families received numerous booties from her, too. Gladys is survived by her son, Gary (Patty), of Torrance, CA; two daughters, JoAnn (Terry) McMillan of Paso Robles, CA, and Carrie Lu (Gerald) Kissack of Hemet, CA; and daughter-in-law, Kathleen Braasch of Las Vegas, NV, as well as numerous nieces and nephews, twelve grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren, and nine great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Braasch; mother and father, Carrie and John Timm;four brothers, one sister; her son and daughter-in-law, Donald and Delores Braasch; her son, Duane, and one grandson, Jeffrey. Viewing will take place on June 2, 2013 from 12 PM - 5 PM at Inglewood Park Cemetery Chapel, 3801 W. Manchester Blvd. Services will be held on June 3, 2013 at 11:30 AM also at Inglewood Park Cemetery. Please sign the guestbook at www.dailybreeze.com/obits.
