Edith Kathryn (Edie) Lace Obituary
Edith (Edie)
Kathryn Lace

Edith (Edie) Kathryn Lace, beloved wife of Robert Lace, went to our Lord on February 24, 2013. Born to German immigrants on August 15, 1922 in Cleveland, Ohio. She is survived by her husband, children (Renee and Larry), grandchildren (Ashley, Adrian, Aaron) and sister, Carolyn Brandes and her daughter, Karen. Edie was fluent in German and graduated from West Tech High School in 1940 subsequently working at Garlock Packing company. She was married to Robert Lace for 66 years, moving to Rancho Palos Verdes in 1962 where she worked as a bookkeeper and accountant for Conway Metal Craft company until her retirement in 1990. An avid reader she also enjoyed cooking, knitting, dancing and was always "up for a party and having fun". She and family enjoyed many years of boating in Ohio specifically at "Cedar Point" yacht club in Sandusky, Ohio going to such places a Kelly's Island and Put-n-Bay. She was active as an Eastern Star in the Shrine along with her husband who was Mason. Her favorite restaurant was the "Red Onion" in Rolling Hills, Ca where she had countless meals with her friends and family. In addition to her hobbies she was a volunteer at South Bay hospital where she assisted patients and others with her care and support. She had many close friends in her life but one in particular, "Bea Koehler" who undoubtedly was her "soul-sister" on this earth and will surely be missed by her. In lieu of flowers please send donations to "St Judes. Children hospital" at their website www.stjude.org in her name. Also, we would like you to sign her guestbook at www.dailybreeze.com/obits.
