Edith Mae Moore Hofmann Obituary
March 13, 1924 - April 29, 2011

Eadie Hofmann passed away peacefully at Torrance Memorial Hospital. She is survived by her three children, eight grandchildren, two nieces and nephews, her brother-in-law and two cousins. Her children: Cathie (John) Kanuit, Greg (Roxanne) and Doug (Laura) and her grandchildren who were so dear to her: Richard, Brandon and Lexi Hofmann, Lane, Greg and Lindsay Hofmann and Allison and McKenna Kanuit, her nieces, Robin Page Cocke and Connie Hartman, her nephews, Gary Page and Dan Hofmann, her brother-in-law, Bud Hofmann and her cousins, Bill Currier and Marshall Nielsen. Eadie's parents, Dinty and Edith Moore, moved from Salida, Colorado to North Hollywood with her brother Bill and sister, Betty Lou, where Eadie was born and attended North Hollywood High School. She was proud to have worked at Disney Studios in the ink and paint department where she made many lifelong friends and met Phil Hofmann. Phil and Eadie lived in Palos Verdes Estates since 1961 and were married for 60 years before he passed away in 2005. Tall, blond and beautiful, Eadie sang for the Disney Camp/ USO during WWII, enjoyed traveling the world with Phil and their friends, played golf (even had two hole-in-ones) and was a lovely, sweet lady and a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She loved to garden and pull weeds (in her yard or yours) and have pool parties for her grandchildren. Her life was challenged by blindness caused by macular degeneration but her spirit and positive attitude were always at their best. There will be a celebration of life memorial at her home on June 18. If you'd like to make a donation in her name, her favorite charities were Children's Hospital Los Angeles, Macular Degeneration Foundation and SPCA.
