Eleanor Romayne "Ellie" Riddick Obituary
Eleanor ("Ellie") Romayne Riddick

After a long and outstanding journey of life, on the morning of August 13, 2014, our beloved mother, Eleanor ("Ellie") Romayne Riddick, at the age of 90, left these earthly bounds and joined her late husband of 68 years, Nathaniel ("Nate") James Riddick, exactly one year to the date, to continue their eternal journey with the Lord.

Born in York, Pa. To Eleanor Virginia Harris and James Wright, Ellie's family later moved to Harrisburg, Pa., where she was the only sibling of nine to graduate from William Penn HS, and with Honors. She was fondly remembered from then as the "class talker'.

After high school, Ellie proudly served her country during WWII as a member of the Army WACs, where she was trained as a military nurse. After an Honorable discharge, she married her beloved husband "Nate", and were blessed with seven children. She spent the last almost 50 years residing in her adopted city of Carson, Ca., where she was involved as a volunteer for the city, and served as a city commissioner.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her siblings: Janie Ayres Wright, James Wright, Helen Louise Wright, David Henry Wright, Margaret Elizabeth Wright Butler, Leroy Edward Wright, and Alice Marion Wright Smith. She is survived by her sister Elsie Eugenia Wright Bolen, as well as her children: Robert Riddick (Helen), Joyce Ann Riddick, Brenda Riddick, Michael Riddick (Arlene), Richard Riddick, Melissa Carew, and Eleanor Riddick-Parham (Phillip), 16 cherished grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, as well as many other dear family members and those who knew and loved her.
