Enid Helen Mantz Obituary
Enid Helen Mantz

Enid Helen Mantz, 91, died at her home in San Pedro, CA, on September 23, 2014. Enid was born to Lawrence and Hulda Bruhn in Grand Rapids, MN. During WWII, Enid left Minnesota to work for Boeing in Seattle, WA, where she met and married Owen Eide, a Norwegian fisherman who spent his summers on the Bering Sea. During these seasons, Enid spent many happy summers supporting her parents and a disabled aunt at the family's farm near Deerwood, MN and resided in San Pedro, CA during the remainder of the year. Several years after Owen's death, Enid married Joseph Mantz until his passing in 2003. Enid's many friends of all ages, and her nieces and nephews remember her love of table games, and how at the least provocation, she would laugh until tears came to her eyes and she couldn't catch her breath. Her first love was Jesus, who she claimed as Lord and Savior. She wanted others to know the peace and forgiveness she enjoyed in him. Enid is survived by her brother, Lawrence (Hazel) Bruhn and sister, Lillian Benner. She is preceded in death by her husbands, Owen and Joe, and nephew, Douglas Bruhn. A Memorial Celebration is planned for October 12, 2014. Location and time can be provided by contacting one of the family or Enid's close friends. The family wishes to thank Enid's caregivers, Karina and Rosalind, who made it possible for Enid to spend her final months in her home. Please sign the guest book at www.dailybreeze.com/obits.
