Esther Marovich Obituary
Esther DiMeglio Marovich

Passed away on Thursday, April 7th, 2016 in Torrance, California at the age of 75. She was born in San Pedro, California on April 21st, 1940 and was a life-long resident. Esther attended Mary Star of the Sea Elementary School and graduated from Mary Star of the Sea High School in 1958. She worked at The Gas Company at the time she met and married the love of her life, Ronald "Ronnie" Marovich, on October 14, 1967. Esther became a stay at home mother when her daughters were born, but continued to work tirelessly beside Ronnie as they built their family business, Seafood Express, and their life together. When her children were grown, Esther joined the staff at Mary Star of the Sea High School where she worked for nearly 24 years. Esther truly enjoyed her time at her alma mater and was so fond of both her colleagues and the students there. Esther will always be remembered for her warm personality, generosity, and great sense of humor. She loved her family and friends more than anything, and that was obvious to anyone who had the good fortune to know her. Esther was a wonderful cook and took great pleasure in sharing her culinary gifts with her loved ones. Esther was preceded in death by her parents Anna (DiLeva) DiMeglio and Pasquale DiMeglio, brother Carmen DiMeglio, and sister Lucy DiMeglio. She is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Ronnie, daughters Lisa Marovich and Dina Marovich; grandson Luke Weidenmier; sisters-in-law Dora Marovich; Lillian Marovich; and Eva (David) Torres; and brothers-in-law John Marovich and Michael (Kimberly) Marovich; her dear cousins whom she loved like her siblings Lucy DiLeva, Patricia DiLeva, Ralph (Peggy) DiLeva, and Joe (Patricia) Falangetti, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; and her two best friends, Clara Mancusi and Anna Campise. A Funeral Mass will be offered on Wednesday, April 13, 2016, 12:00 pm at Mary Star of the Sea Church. Interment will follow at Green Hills Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Mary Star of the Sea High School. Please sign the guestbook at mcnerneysmortuary.com or dailybreeze.com.
