Fiore DeCrenza Obituary
Fiore (Joe) DeCrenza

October 31,1916 – May 20, 2017

Joe passed away peacefully on May 20, 2017. He was born on October 31, 1916 in Ossining, New York, to Alfonso and Pasqualina DiCriscenzo. He was preceded in death by the love of his life Louise (married 68 years), his daughter Lucy (Padalecki), his brothers Sam and Alfonso, and his sisters Lucy (Abbatiello) and Mary (Pinkham). He is survived by his daughter Paula Vulin (Anthony), son-in-law Charles Padalecki and sister Carmela DeCrenza. He leaves behind 4 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Joe moved his family from New York to California in 1968. He served in the Army in Europe in WWII and Honorably discharged in 1946. He was an usher at Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church for 20 years. He loved playing the accordion, harmonica, piano, electric keyboard and guitar. Joe exercised at the YMCA every morning until he was 97 years old. He and his family were avid golfers. He loved bowling, fixing everything that was broken, spending time with his family, and taking care of his vegetables and fruit trees. Joe turned 100 last October and was honored at a birthday celebration with over 100 friends and family from all over the country. Joe was the most gentle, loving and caring father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, cousin and friend and will be missed dearly, but never forgotten. His family would like to thank Harbor Terrace Retirement Community, Golden Care Living and Trinity Hospice for the best care possible. Visitation is scheduled on Friday from 5:00pm-7:00pm at McNerney's Mortuary. Services will be held at Holy Trinity Catholic Church Saturday, May 27, at 10:00am.
