Gates Anthony Intino, 74, of Redondo Beach, CA passed away Sunday, December 24, at home, with his wife by his side. He was born Jan. 5, 1943, in Utica, N.Y., the son of the late Frank and Anna (nee Costa) Intino. He was a graduate of T.R Proctor High School and Berkeley School of Music, in Boston. For many years, Gates was an entertainer in the Utica and subsequently the Los Angeles area until he became disabled in the early 1990's. Gates was of the Catholic faith, had a deep abiding love for family and friends, enjoyed listening to music and watching movies. Gates was preceded in death by his brothers, Paul F. Intino of Utica; and Mark A. Intino of Las Vegas. He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Eliza J. Intino of Redondo Beach, Calif.; his sister-in-law, Linda Intino of Utica, N.Y.; his niece Kimberly Intino of Montgomery Village, Maryland; his nephew, Paul C. Intino of Utica, N. Y.; his uncle and aunt, Alphonso and Mary Stiffa of Utica; his aunt, Jane Melchiorre of Utica; his niece, Mary Ann Curro of St. Paul, Minn.; and several cousins. He is also survived by many dear friends in both Utica and Los Angeles area, particularly Danny Convertino of Utica, NY. Gate's wishes were to be cremated with no memorial services, and his ashes scattered at sea.
