Georgian Spaeter Obituary
Georgian Jane Spaeter
R.N, PH. N

Our wonderful wife, mother, grand- mother and great grandmother left us Friday, June 9, 2017 after a long illness.
Jane was born in Santa Monica California, November 29, 1933 to Airden and Opal Dockhorn Williams. After a brief modeling career, she became a Technical Illustrator at Douglas Aircraft. It was here that she met the love of her life, Al Spaeter. They married August 17, 1955 and enjoyed 62 years of love and adventure traveling to almost every corner of the world accompanied frequently by their infamous "Travel Group". They enjoyed skiing, hiking, and fishing each season in Mammoth always coming home with great stories to tell. Loyal Trojan's, they attended and picnicked at each USC home football game with their children and cherished friends
Jane returned to school to become a registered nurse, receiving her public health nursing degree from St. Mary's College. At Torrance Memorial Hospital, she was initially an oncology nurse and later became Director of Case Management. She initiated the Care Van program there
and co-founded the Home Care company. In 1986 she approached her daughter, Lori, an Occupational Therapist and Polly Jackson, a fellow R.N about her idea to form a new home care company for the local community. That company, Just Right Homecare, grew to include nine different locations throughout Southern California, with son, Larry, serving as CFO. A home health company, Just Right Help, was added
eventually, to enable Just Right to offer a full complement of nursing and rehab services. Jane believed in giving back volunteering faithfully in her community for many organizations. She was a co-founder of Palos Verdes Junior Woman's Club, where she met and maintained some of her closest friends throughout life serving for a time as President of that group. She also was a member of Spinnakers, of the Assistance League of San Pedro, Encore, a support group for Norris Theater and a board member of the South Bay Philharmonic. Family was everything to Jane. She leaves her husband, Al; her children, Lori Carlson and husband, Doug; Larry Spaeter and Robert de la Vara, granddaughters, Kelsey Carlson and Courtney Harden, husband, Jack and her great granddaughter, Lucy; cherished brother- in- law,
William Spaeter, niece, Diane Spaeter Webb and husband Rick, grandnephew, Matt Webb, and grandniece, Claire Webb, and nephew, Kurt Spaeter and grandniece, Emily, loved cousin, Robert Dockhorn and his wife, Beverly as well as many cherished friends and family.
The family would like to give special thanks to Norma Lopez, Vanessa Kirk, and Julia Harris, Jane Mitchell and Hilda Lopez for their wonderful love and care throughout this challenging time.
Jane will be buried in a private family service. A memorial will be held to celebrate her life later this summer.
