Gerald Lee Stuver Obituary
Gerald Lee Stuver, 93, was born on October 23, 1917 and passed away peacefully on February 23, 2011 from a sudden bout of pneumonia. A talkative, hardworking, adventurous, devoted husband and father, Gerald lived life to the fullest. Growing up in Venice, CA with two duties in the U.S. Navy, Gerald was an avid seaman and shellback. Proud of his career as a manufacturing engineer in the aerospace industry, Gerald spoke often about his work. Gerald enjoyed many years coaching baseball at Tordondo Little League. His journeys to every state capitol building in the U.S. reinforced his interest in politics. During his retirement years, Gerald was very active and traveled often. Active and on the go, Gerald loved to go on his daily walks and gave inspiration to those in the neighborhood to push forward. Gerald is survived by sons, Harry and Stephen (Debbie); daughter, Penelope (Don); grandchildren, Andrew, Michael, Trisha, Sandy, Paul, Robbie and Steven; great-grandchildren, Sara, Michelle, Ian and Neve; and great-great-granddaughter, Lilly. We will all miss "Papa Stu's" stories from the past and he will be greatly remembered. A casual graveside service will be held Saturday, March 5, 2011 at noon at Inglewood Cemetery. Following the service will be a gathering at Gerald's house in Torrance. Please sign the guestbook at www.dailybreeze.com/obits.
