Harman Mathias Hitt Obituary
Harman Mathias Hitt, a 50-year resident of Rolling Hills Estates, passed away at his home on October 27, 2010. Harman and his twin brother Elmer, were born on March 13, 1920 in Detroit, Michigan to parents Gordon and Beulah Hitt. Harman served in the U.S. Air Force during WWII. After returning from duty, Harman went to University of Michigan Law School, as well as met and married Miss Elizabeth Etter in 1950.

Harman, Elizabeth and their young family moved from Detroit to Los Angeles in 1957, following the move of his brother Elmer and family to L.A. In 1955, both families settled on the Palos Verdes Peninsula. Harman and Elmer practiced law together in Long Beach until Elmer passed away in 1976. Harman continued to practice law for another 20 years, retiring at age 76 in 1996.

Harman's life was one of service and support. He was available in very tangible ways to friends, families and others, offering emotional support, financial assistance, good counsel, or even a place to live.
