Harriett May Wheeler

Harriett May Wheeler, age 92, passed away on February 11, 2012 in Vancouver, WA. She was born February 20, 1919 in Corona, CA, and had been a Washougal resident since 2005, formerly of Torrance, CA. Mrs. Wheeler graduated from Redondo Union High School and Pasadena College, both of California. She received a Medal of Achievement Award from California State Parks Department for her many years of volunteer service at Redwood State Park and Anza Borrego Desert State Park. She also received many awards for her needle work. She and husband,Larry enjoyed camping all throughout the United States. Her favorite enjoyment was spur of the moment potlucks. Mrs. Wheeler is survived by her daughters, Susan Snyder and Nancy Wheeler-Sullivan, both of Washougal, WA; sons, Geoffry Wheeler and Timothy Wheeler, both of Central Point, OR; brother, James Millbank of Torrance, CA. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Lawrence, son, Stephen Runyan, and sister, Caroline Short. As per her request, there will be no services. Brown's Funeral Home in Camas, Washington, has been entrusted to the arrangements.
