Hisao Homma

Hisao Homma, 79, died peacefully on June 27, 2016. He was born in Los Angeles on December 24, 1936, to the late Kyushiro and Mutsu Wada Homma. His childhood was interrupted when his family was forced to evacuate to Amache Internment Camp in Granada, CO. After WWII (and his father's death in Amache), the family relocated to Seattle, WA, with his grandparents, Rev. Masahiko and Kuni Wada. After graduating from Garfield High School, Hisao joined the US Marine Corp. He worked for Japan Air Lines until his retirement in 1993. He relocated his family to Torrance, CA, in 1963 when JAL Cargo moved to LAX. Hisao loved fishing with his friends and his sons.
Hisao is survived by his wife, Emilie; children: Marilyn Mason (John), Mitch (Stephanie), Doug, Stuart (Mel); four grandchildren; sister, Kumiko Hasegawa (Dr. Fred), and brother, Kunio.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 22 at 11:00AM at Gardena Valley Baptist Church, 1630 W 158th St, Gardena, CA, followed by a light lunch at the church and an interment service at 2:30PM at Westminster Memorial Park, Westminster, CA.
