Irene Lillian (Laux) Trevisanut

Irene Lillian (Laux) Trevisanut was born April 1, 1917. She lived her life to the fullest, made the most of each day, was able to have a positive impact on many people and be so universally loved. She was the eldest of 8 children born to Conrad J. Laux and Anna Abraham Laux. She passed away peacefully in her home on February 22, 2015 at age 97 with her family by her side. She was born in Cook County, Illinois where she met and married the love of her life, Victor Raymond Trevisanut. They were married for 44 years when he passed in 1985. While in Chicago, Irene and Vic started their family, where they had 6 of their 10 children: Victor Raymond III (Mildred), Lee Ann Marie (Roger Finner), Vaughn Randall (Janna), Vernon Richard (Carla), Val Robert and Vincent Ronald (Maria). Together they developed a strong work ethic and desire to provide for their family. They opened and operated a small dry cleaning business and a restaurant all while Vic worked hard to get his degree from The Art Institute of Chicago. After graduation, they ventured west across the country stopping in Utah where their 7th child was born, Van Reed (Terry). After a few months, they saved enough money to continue their adventure toward California. In 1957, they purchased their home of 61 years in Manhattan Beach, where their children, Venard Russell (Adria), Vail Rory (Saumi) and Janice Renee (Michael Roque), were born. She also ran this large household by herself while her husband, after receiving his top secret clearance, was away working on projects related to the first lunar landing. Irene was best known for her open-door policy, tasty home-cooked meals, sewing clothes for her children, creating works of art with her knitting, her adventurous spirit and passion for travel. Most importantly, she will always be known for her unconditional love. Her legacy continues with 26 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren and 2 great, great grandchildren. She was greeted in Heaven by her loving husband, Vic; her daughter, Lee Ann; her sons, Vincent and Vernon; and her brothers, Clarence and Conrad. In addition to her children and grandchildren, left to cherish her memory are her sisters, Marianne, Grace, Florence, Lila; her brother, Raymond and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. She will be especially missed by her dear friends in her craft club. Celebration of Life, Friday March 6th at 2:00 P.M. at American Martyrs Church, 624 15th St. Manhattan Beach, CA 90266.
