Jack R. Rudder

June 7, 1934 - April 30, 2015

Jack was born in Torrance, CA and spent his whole life in the South Bay. He graduated from Redondo Union High School in 1952 and joined the Army in 1953. After attending infantry training and leadership schools he was sent to the Panama Canal Zone and served with the initial alert force for the Panama Canal. While in the Service Jack married Audrey Neil, a 1954 graduate of Mira Costa High School and Audrey joined him in Panama. Upon return from Panama, Jack attended El Camino College and UCLA, graduating with a BS in Business Administration. Jack worked as a barber while attending school and kept his barber's license for many years. He did accounting and tax work for a small L.A. law firm until he left and became corporate tax director at Computer Sciences Corp in El Segundo. Jack became interested in psychology and obtained certification as an alcohol and drug counselor and was licensed as a marriage and family counselor. After leaving CSC he returned to school and received his doctorate in Clinical Psychology. In spite of those degrees and extensive volunteer work as a counselor, it was doing taxes that paid the bills. Jack did accounting and tax work for friends, family and many other clients as a sole practitioner until the year before his death. Audrey predeceased Jack, but they were married for 25 years and leave three children, Mark, Clark, and Crystal and grandchildren, Zaneta, Nicholas, India, Tiffany, Robert, David, Joshua and Jason and great grandsons Anthony and Alex. Jack is also survived by his sister, Irene Russ and his current wife, Ginger Schwartz. Jack met his new love in 1979 and they were married in 1982. They had 32+ years of adventures and fun until Jack became too ill to travel. Jack died of liver cancer after 6 months of debilitating illness.
