Jacqueline Daly-Graves Obituary
Jacqueline Daly-Graves passed away in her sleep on August 15, 2010. She was born in Johnstown, PA on September 29, 1946, where she grew up and attended high school. After graduation, she moved to New Jersey, where she worked and gave birth to her son, Scott. After visiting her sister Donna in California, she decided to move here and arrived in the South Bay with car and U-Haul in 1973. Jacki soon found work in the aerospace industry and met Carl Graves, a physicist who worked at TRW. They married in 1978 and enjoyed many years living in the South Bay and traveling together to Europe, Australia and other island destinations. Besides her work in aerospace, Jacki used her talent in graphic arts to make a successful career in advertising and design, winning awards in the oil and gas industry and later starting her own design firm, Design Dimension. She was an artist and musician who played the piano (and sometimes drove her family crazy with her love of the score for the Broadway show, "Phantom of the Opera"). She compiled some of her original compositions on a CD released in 1992, "Redondo Rainbow". Jacki had a keen sense of humor, and she loved clothes, jewelry and murder mysteries, among other things. She is survived and will be missed by her husband Carl; son, Scott; sister, Donna; niece, Katherine; nephews Doug, Tracy, and Greg; Carl's children, Jim and Mary Anne; granddaughters, Christine and Catherine; grandsons, Connor and Conrad; and longtime friends Moira, Deborah and Tom and Millie. A service to celebrate her life will be held at The Neighborhood Church in Palos Verdes Estates on September 24 at noon. Please sign the guestbook at www.dailybreeze.com/obits.
