March 30, 1922 - October 24, 2010

James C. Riple, Jr. passed away October 24, 2010. He is survived by his beloved wife, Pat; son, Jim; daughters, Mary Beveridge, Carol McDaniel's and Cathy Ripple; sister, Rebecca Swanton; godfather and grandson to James and grandson, Sean; granddaughter, Laura; great-grandson, Maverick and many nieces and nephews. Jim served in the U.S. Army and after moving to the South Bay area earned his PhD from UCLA and worked as a mechanical engineer for Allied Signal for 43 years. Jim was a voracious reader, but he also loved the outdoors and all the adventures that were to be had. He loved climbing mountains, fishing, hunting and camping in the deep mountains of Win river Mountain Range near Lander, Wyoming and he found pure enjoyment photographing those experiences. Jim was also and avid and experienced glider pilot and flew almost every weekend for years. He was a quiet and gentle man with a great deal of wisdom and knowledge and was one of the most enjoyable and pleasant souls to touch this earth. He will sorely be missed by his family.
