James Christopher "JC" Sherman, Jr. Obituary
JC was a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard who proudly served his country during the Korean War, passed away on Monday, March 21, 2011 at the age of 82. He is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Connie Sherman (Taylor); beloved children, Dan (Annette) Richardson, Denis Richardson, La Richardson, Cyndi (Tom) Kirby and JC (Kathy) Sherman III; siblings, Marie Miller, Ernestine Gutierrez, Sandy Kelly and George Sherman; grandchildren, Leah (Tony) Gumm, Brennan Richardson, Julie (Mark) Mais, Roxanne Bristol, Paige Johnston, Marina Richardson, Christina and Jennifer Kirby, Nick Schmitt, JC IV and Taylor Sherman; great grandchildren, Brooke, Samantha and Sydney Gumm, Maris, Makayla, Luke and Maile Richardson and Mercedes and Mark Mais, Jr.; and fondly remembered by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. JC is predeceased by his parents, James C. Sherman, Sr. and Ernestine Marie Sherman; and sister, Jacqueline Sherman. He was a native and longtime resident of Torrance and a graduate of George Washington High, class of '47, where he met his future wife, Connie, class of '49. He retired from the DWP in 1992 and relocated to Tigard, Oregon. He will be forever remembered as a loving and loyal husband, father, grandfather, and brother, who loved his country and treasured his family. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service at Green Hills Memorial Park in Rancho Palos Verdes at 3pm on April 15th.
