James was born in a house at 435 O'Farrell Street in San Pedro, on April 15, 1916 to Giacomo Noceti, and Maria Ghio. He passed away peacefully on June 25, 2016. James was a fisherman. He started fishing with his father at a early age on the fishing vessel Nova Roma. They fished in the Santa Barbara area. They also fished for a company called Larco Brothers in Santa Barbara. Later he got married to Mary Caserma and started a family in San Pedro. They had six children: Jack Noceti (Pat), Mary Rose Sedillos, James (Joe) Noceti, John Noceti (Patsy) Florence Zieser (Jim), and Anthony Noceti. In San Pedro James fished on the fishing vessel St. Christina, before going to work at Todd's Shipyard. His last job was working at Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church in San Pedro. He was preceded in death by ex-wife, Mary. He is survived by his six children; sister, Gloria Noceti; 12 grandchildren, and 18 great grandchildren. Viewing will be held on Tuesday, July 5, 2016, 3-8 PM at Green Hills. Mass will be held at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 1292 W. Santa Cruz Street San Pedro, CA on Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at 10 AM followed by interment at Green Hills Memorial Park, 27501 Western Ave. Rancho Palos Verdes, CA 90275.
