James Richard Sack Obituary
James Richard Sack

August 17, 1933 -
June 24, 2018

Gardnerville, NV

James Richard Sack, formerly of Torrance, passed away peacefully, at home, surrounded by family and friends on Sunday, June 24th 2018.

Jim was born in Flint, Michigan to Jacob and Florence Sack. Jim earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from Michigan College of Mining and Technology. After graduation, while serving in the Air Force, he met Rebecca McLean in Japan and they were married in Hawaii in 1957. In 1963, they settled in Torrance, CA, where together they raised their three children. Those years included being involved in Cub Scouts, attending little league games, camping, family motorcycle and boat trips, riding go karts in the Sears parking lot on Sunday mornings, flying radio controlled gliders over the cliffs in Palos Verdes, and many other fun memories that we are grateful for.

In 1989 he married Rhonda (Rhoads). He retired from Hughes Aircraft Company after 31 years and they started on their adventures that would take them traveling all around the U.S., living in many places and making lifelong friends before settling in Gardnerville, Nevada. During those years they were very active in a variety of activities and clubs, together traveling every summer to astronomical observation gatherings and car shows with their Corvette club.

Jim leaves behind his loving wife, Rhonda Sack; his children, Karen (Mark), Victor (Sandi), Paul (Julie); brother, John Sack; sister, Joann Bentley; step-children, Nicholas (Andrea), Christopher, Gerald (Natalie); along with 12 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by parents, Jacob and Florence Sack.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, July 14th at 1 p.m. at Carson Valley Methodist Church, Gardnerville, Nevada. Please sign the guest book at www.dailybreeze.com/obits
