Sweeney. He was preceded in death by his only sister, Pam Henderson of Cleveland. He grew up and attended school in Cleveland and graduated from Shaw High School. He served in the United States Marine Corps from 1946, stationed in Tsingtao, China, until his honorable discharge in 1948. Under the GI Bill he attended John Carroll University for one year, then transferred to and graduated from Miami University of Ohio in 1952. He joined the Dobeckman Packaging Co. which later was absorbed by DOW Chemical Company. After working in Cleveland, Cincinnati and Pittsburgh, he was transferred to Los Angeles, CA in 1970. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Marylou, and their 5 children, Brian (Carrie), Paul (Lynn), Neil (Mary), Jay (Megan) and Ellen Tuberosi (Victor). He was the proud grandfather of Kristin, Jamie, James, Matthew, Skyler, Sean, Katie and Alexander. He loved traveling with Marylou, reading, golfing, collecting World War II memorabilia, spending time with his family and was often seen at the Elks Club. His vast collection of WWII memorabilia will be donated to his alma mater Miami University of Ohio in his name. Jim was a faithfully devout parishioner at St John Fisher Church in Palos Verdes. A day did not go by without Jim expressing his deeply felt love and gratitude for his wife, family, friends, and all the blessings that God bestowed upon him. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Manny Dela Cruz and "Helping Hand" company for their support in his final days. A Celebration of Life and services will be held at Green Hills Cemetery located at 27501 Western Avenue in Rancho Palos Verdes, Thursday, April 2nd at 9:00 am.
