Uncle Jerry Morgan Obituary
10/25/1924 - 1/24/2019 "Uncle Jerry" Morgan was born on October 25, 1924 and passed away on January 24, 2019. Jerry was the proud Postmaster at the Rolling Hills General Store for 36 years. "Everybody's Uncle" is survived by his sister, Shirley Lademan (who stood by his side thick and thin), her 5 children, and their families the Lademans, Hawkes and Kuzmanics...his grandchildren and great-grandchildrenand of course, Kelly's Korner. Uncle Jerry walked up Rolling Hills Road to work 6 days a week, rain or (mostly) shine, until finally retiring at 90. If you grew up nearby, you knew himalways with a smile and more than willing to listen to all. Everybody who knew him loved him as their own. The generations that got to see him daily, grew up recognizing him do his job, by helping people in many more ways than being the Postmaster. He was a friend to everyone. Jerry did everything he could to help anybody he came across, young and old. The love he showed to his friends and family or whomever walked up to get something delivered was as genuine as it gets. He's left an indelible mark on all the people he interacted with. It was impossible to not have a good time being next to him. Uncle Jerry was nothing but positive. If he ever had a bad day, you would never know it. And if you had one, he'd do his best to make it better. He was a fixture in a time and place that's gone by the wayside. "Dearly missed" is often overused, but could not be more poignant with Jerry. If you knew him, you loved himbecause he loved you even more. Services will be private. A Celebration of "Everybody's Uncle" will be forthcoming. Please email inquiries to the following: dihawke@gmail.com or call 310.377.3724. There's a void that cannot be filled. Except through inspiration and how he lived his life. Thank you Uncle Jerry, for all that you did, for every life you touched. You were a true inspiration and everybody that got to know Uncle Jerry, was better from it. Love you, farewell. Please sign the guestbook at dailybreeze.com/obits.
