Jessica Burden Obituary
Jessica Burden

Jessica Burden lived her life guided by generosity, friendship, grace and wit. Her passion for living brought her around the world and made each day abundantly full. Her family was the heart of her existence, and she will always be the most loved wife, mother and Grammy. Born Jessica Comeaux in Abbeville, Louisiana, Jessy never abandoned her Cajun roots. She moved to Redondo Beach at age 1, and spent her entire 59 years making Torrance a better place. She attended St. James as a young girl and later graduated West High School Class of '73. One year later, she met the love of her life, Jeff Burden, and spent the next 40 years taking care of her family and raising their 2 children, Josh and Ryan. Jessy was completely involved with her children's lives. She was always the Team Mother, Brownie Leader, and woman you could count on to organize events for the school. When the grandkids arrived, she was the ultimate Grammy and loved to cook, do crafts, watch games, and take great care of them. Jessy's intense spirit of adventure was contagious as she would organize trips around the world for family and friends. She was a master of tours, subways systems, bullet trains, elephant safaris, dark alleys and tuk-tuks. Jessy's love for family and friends was limitless and unconditional. There was not a person she ever met that was not inspired by her kindness and consideration. Although she is missed deeply in our hearts, we are so proud of the light she left shining over our world. Jessica is survived by her mother Louise, beloved husband Jeff, Josh and Christy Burden, Ryan and Hunter McGee, and four loving grandchildren: Jake, Cade, Reese and Dylan. There will be a memorial at the LDS Church on 715 Knob Hill Ave. in Redondo Beach on March 23rd at 1:00 p.m. Please sign our guestbook online and share in her wonderful memories.
