John Arkangel Buddy Obituary
Buddy John Arkangel

Buddy passed away at the age of 51, on March 31, 2017.
Born in Los Angeles, he grew up in Huntington Beach where he distinguished himself playing football and track. After serving in the Army, he returned to Orange County where he earned his license as a sports trainer. He was proud to serve on staffs for championship teams at Orange Coast College and Northwood High School. He was a longshoreman; a proud and fortunate member of local 13 until the day he passed.
A quirky, fun-loving person who brought joy to those around him, Buddy was also extremely caring and generous. He was a wonderful son to his mother, Christyne Naluai, (Pete), brother, Brian Arkangel, (Yoshiko), and uncle to Lindsey, Lane, and Galen. Showing by example to those around him how to lead a life of high moral standards while enjoying all the simple miracles in daily life. At the time of his death, he was working on a scholarship for students wishing to pursue their dreams of playing softball in college.
His big-hearted presence will be missed by all who knew him. In his final years, he found a love of fishing which took him out to sea on many of his days off.
Combined with his love for the islands and culture of Hawaii, his ashes will be set to rest off the islands where he dreamed of retiring to.
A reception to celebrate his life will be held at Bob's Hawaiian Restaurant in Gardena, on April 29, at 1:30pm.. Please sign the guest book www.dailybreeze.com/obits.
