John Malinofsky

10/27/1919 – 3/26/2017

John was born and raised in New Jersey. As a young man he worked on a farm, as well as at a bowling alley, where he served as a manager and bartender. He joined the Army in 1941, and became a medic. John was sent to the Aleutian Islands off of Alaska, and after the war was sent to Fort MacArthur, San Pedro, California, where he was discharged from the service in 1945. John went to work at McCowan's Market in San Pedro, and later owned and operated a Texaco and Chevron Station, until he retired in 1972. He is preceded in death by his wife Ola Mae, as well as two brothers and two sisters. He is survived by one son, Butch (Barbara); three grandsons, Darrin (Mana), David, Brian (Karin); 4 great grandchildren, Sara, Taylor, Ian, and Tucker; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
