John R.  "Jack" Schwarz Obituary
Jack was born in Los Angeles, California, on April 6, 1930. After a lengthy illness, he left to be with his Lord on January 15, 2011, at the age of 80. He moved with his family from Owensmouth, California to San Pedro in 1940. Jack served in the Army during the Korean War as a tank mechanic. As a teenager and into his 20s he built and raced hot rods. He was employed as a tune-up mechanic for Cadillac-Olds dealerships; and later joined his father-in-law and brother-in-law in their automotive repair business, "Modern Brake and Automotive" in San Pedro. He retired to Canyon Lake, CA in 1990. Jack is survived by his wife of 52 years, Daryl; five children, Kathleen Kozie, John, Jim, Michael, Jane Klausner; twelve grandchildren; and brothers, Ralph, and Bob. A "celebration of life" will be held on Monday, January 24, 2011 at St. Vincent Ferrer Catholic Church in Sun City at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be Wednesday, January 26, 12:30 p.m. at Riverside National Cemetery.
