Julian C. Jimenez

Julian C. Jimenez passed away on Friday, June 10, 2016. Julian was born on December 8, 1939 and graduated from Cathedral High School in 1957. As a dedicated public servant for over 34 years, Julian retired from the City of Los Angeles as a Parks Maintenance Supervisor in the Point Fermin Maintenance District. He was the last resident of the Point Fermin Lighthouse (1979-2002). Julian's tireless commitment to the San Pedro community was demonstrated while voluntarily serving on numerous committees ranging from long-term community projects to annual community events. He was instrumental in the revitalization of the Point Fermin Lighthouse into a historical museum and the played a very important role in the renewal of the Improved Order of Redman Lodge in San Pedro. He was a licensed HAM radio operator, co-owner of a two-way radio rental company and a licensed pyrotechnic display operator. Julian was responsible for successfully executing the pyrotechnic displays annually at Cabrillo Beach, Port of Los Angeles, City of Lomita, City of Long Beach, and San Pedro High School. He loved ocean fishing, friends and helping others. He is survived by his wife, Lisa Monsaas Jimenez, sons- Julian E., Brian V., and Andrew P. Jimenez, two grand children- Isabella and Julian and two sisters- Susan Barrett and Juanita Jimenez. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: Pt. Fermin Lighthouse Society, P.O.
