Born in Deming New Mexico to Miguel and Belen Montoya He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1950 and was honorably discharged in 1952 He was a truck driver for Continental Can Co. and a member of the United States Steelworkers Union local #7289 where he retired after 32 years of service. He was a member of the American Legion and served as Finance Officer for several years. He was also a member of the VFW and the DAV. He loved camping, fishing, and his family, and could always be found working outside in the garden. He is survived by his Wife of 63 years, Mary Consuelo, three sons, Richard ( Elisa) Montoya, Karl Montoya, Andrew (Suzie) Montoya, five Grandchildren, and three Great grandchildren.
