June M. Wall

January 5, 1921 - January 20, 2014

Beloved Wife, Mother, Sister, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother passed away in Torrance, CA at Providence Little Company of Mary Hospital. She, with her husband Russell, was a Torrance resident since 1959. She was born and raised in Fargo, ND. After high school she went to work as a waitress in a cafe for two years. She then attended a nursing college in Bottineau, ND and obtained her RN degree in 1945. It was in Bottineau that she met and later married Russell in 1946, her husband of almost 65 years until his passing in 2011. After the family moved to California in 1956 she worked at Hawthorne Community Hospital then, in a move close to home, Little Company of Mary Hospital just four months after it opened in 1960. She completed 18+ years of service at L.C.M.H. when she retired. She enjoyed retirement life; ocean cruises, trips to Europe, Hawaii; and even Dodger games. She was a devout Catholic to the end of her life never wavering in her beliefs. To all who helped her in her last year she would always say "Muchas Gracias", her favorite way of saying Thank You. June is survived by her sister, Francis; son, Douglas (Maurita); and daughter, Karen (Doug); four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren; brother-in-laws, John (Joan) and Kenneth; and sister-in-laws, Ione and Doris; and many extended family members.
