Diane passed away peacefully at her home in Hermosa Beach at the age of 73. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of forty-three years, Leon "Bud" Charles Miller. Diane was born in Paterson, New Jersey and spent her childhood in Wyckoff, New Jersey. She moved to Trumbull, Connecticut at the age of sixteen where she graduated from Bridgeport High School. She moved to California after her marriage to Bud. They lived near the beach in Playa del Rey and Hermosa Beach. Diane was an active member of the Hermosa Beach Women's Club, serving as president and as a parliamentarian until her death. After her retirement as an executive assistant at Hughes Aircraft Company, Diane became an accomplished business owner and manager. She ran The Den in Hawthorne, California and The Zebra Room in Torrance, California after Bud's death. Diane had many longtime friends who will miss her greatly. She is survived by her brothers, John Humphries and wife Bette of Carpentaria, CA and Stanley Humphries and wife Kristi of Albuquerque, NM; sons Mark Monroe and wife Kristie of Seattle Washington and Jon Monroe.
