Kamila Prizlow

1922-2017

Kamila Prizlow passed away on Jan. 3, 2017 at the age of 94, after a 15-year struggle with Alzheimer's. Kamila is survived by her husband of 65 years, Jerome Prizlow and the four children they adopted; Larry Prizlow and his wife Sheryl along with their 3 children, Ron Wood and his 2 children and 2 grandchildren, Gina Pfeifer and her husband, Rick Pfeifer and their 2 children, Anita Curtiss and her husband Gary Curtiss along with their four children and 1 grandchild. Kamila was born in Buffalo, New York on September 28, 1922 to Thomas Przygocki and Arnina Przygocki. Kamila worked in her father's tool and die business while she attended high school and lived in Hamtramck, Michigan. She graduated from the University of Colorado in 1948 with a degree in Political Science and worked as an editor for the Key West Post for the next 2 years. Kamila then moved west and worked at UCLA. Kamila was introduced to her future husband Jerome, by both their parents. They were married on May 8, 1951 in Santa Monica, CA. Kamila was a devoted wife to her husband Jerome and loving mamusia/babcia (mother/grandmother in Polish) to her four children and her eleven grandchildren. She lived her life with a joy of family and friends who, in turn, loved her very much. She believed that a smile and kind word, did much to brighten the world. She brought laughter and joy to all those who she met. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends. A private memorial service is scheduled for 12:00 PM on Friday, February 24, 2017 at the Green Hills Mortuary, Rancho Palos Verdes, CA. Please sign the guestbook at www.dailybreeze.com/obits
