Lavern Raymond Gamble Obituary
Gamble, Lavern Raymond, a 61 year resident of the South Bay, passed away on Wednesday, July 28, 2010 in Redondo Beach. Born in Sparta, Wisconsin, Vern was 82 when he died. Vern had served in the Navy from 1948-1952. He worked with Rockwell International as a Flight Simulator Engineer Technician for 38 years. He enjoyed wood working, arts and crafts, and the Los Angeles Dodgers. His passion was his family - he loved cruise ships and spending time with his grandchildren. Vern is survived by his wife, Shirley Gamble of Redondo Beach, CA; daughter, Cheryl (Steve) Anderson of Phoenix, AZ; son, Gary (Dawn) Gamble of Santa Clarita, CA; 4 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Mable Gamble. A gathering of family & friends will be held at White & Day Colonial Mortuary in Redondo Beach on Sunday August 1, 2010 from 1 to 5pm. Burial will take place Monday August 2, 2010 at 1pm at Pacific Crest Cemetery in Redondo Beach.
